Will Wayzn Smart Pet Door work with my door?

Very likely, it really depends on the size of your door, size of your dog, and determining the appropriate opening width for your dog. Wayzn Smart Pet Door works with most 5ft, 6ft, and 8ft, two-panel sliding glass doors regardless of which direction they open or how heavy they are.  For large dogs, such as a St Bernard, a 6ft or 8ft door is needed to be able to provide a large enough opening for the dog to comfortably go in and out.

Can I install Wayzn Smart Pet Door myself?

Yes, Wayzn Smart Pet Door is easy to install in just a few minutes, and the only tools required are a screwdriver and tape measure  It does not require a contractor or professional installation.
  
 

How does Wayzn Smart Pet Door work?

Wayzn Smart Pet Door uses a mobile application or motion detection to allow you to open the door to let your pet out.  When your pet wants to come back in, you once again would use the mobile application to open the door to let them in. 
 
Any internet camera can be used to view the area outside the door to alert you that your pet is at the door.

Wayzn Smart Pet Door is designed to safely close your door. The device utilizes multiple sensors to determine whether the door should remain open, due to motion detection, or re-open due to an obstruction.
 

 

How wide can Wayzn Smart Pet Door open my door?

The exact opening width is dependent on the size of your door -- specifically your exposed track length. By clicking the Configure button on the Wyzn Smart Pet Door page on our website you can learn how to measure your exposed track length and see exactly how wide your door will open with Wayzn. When not in use you can easily pivot your Wayzn Smart Pet Door out of the way allowing the door to open fully.
 
 

Does Wayzn Smart Pet Door work with heavy doors?

If an average person is able to open the door with one hand, then Wayzn Smart Pet Door should have no trouble opening and closing the door.
 
 

Will Wayzn Smart Pet Door work if I have blinds?

Wayzn Smart Pet Door uses a visual sensor for safety, and to enable the Open Upon Motion feature. If you have door blinds they will likely block the sensor's line of sight and interfere with device operation.
 
 

Can Wayzn Smart Pet Door be placed outside of the home?

No, Wayzn Smart Pet Door is designed to be inside the house and requires that the fixed door panel be the outermost panel.
 
 

Does Wayzn Smart Pet Door require WiFi?

Yes, Wayzn Smart Pet Door requires a 2.4 GHz wi-fi connection (dual-band ok).

 

Does Wayzn Smart Pet Door require a camera?

A camera is really only required for when you are away from home, or when you can’t visually monitor outside the door.  You can use any camera you like to detect motion outside the door, notify you, and let you view the area before switching over to the Wayzn mobile app to open the door. 
 
 

Will Wayzn Smart Pet Door work for my Pet?

Yes, as long as your pet fits through the opening width. Wayzn Smart Pet Door uses your existing door, which your dog is already familiar with. Unlike other pet doors, Wayzn Smart Pet Door is great for older pets, pets with limited mobility, and larger pets who may have difficulty using traditional pet doors.
 
 

Does Wayzn Smart Pet Door use a special collar that my pet wears?

We have the Wayzn Pet Tag available for pre-order. When released it will be backward compatible with all existing versions of the Wayzn Smart Pet Door.
 
 

How do I turn Wayzn Smart Pet Door off and on?

There is no on/off switch, and Wayzn Smart Pet Door is designed to be left on at all times.  When not in use it is simple to disengage by pivoting the device out of the way, allowing the door to open normally.
 
 

Does Wayzn Smart Pet Door work for non-sliding doors?

No, Wayzn Smart Pet Door only supports sliding doors.
